After writing a pieces about an up coming swap o rama rama at the Nuyorican Poets cafe on Saturday I had to take my little sister and go back to my roots. I started swapping way back in the beginning of 2007 and loved it so much I hosted big monthly swaps of my own.
I still go to them occasionally but there are so many in the city that it is hard to make all of them and you wind up running in to the same people who bring the same stuff over and over again. Also – considering the business that I am in I am constantly swapping clothes anyway with my vintage friends. I do however like to bring my 15 year old sister because events like this can help to freshen her high school wardrobe which is always an important thing when you are that age. I was super picky and am pretty pleased with my finds (I will show those goodies in another post) I also managed to get my sister to take an outfit picture in front of this cool wall on the lower east side.
My first foray into the world of khaki pants that weren’t part of a job uniform! DKNY front pleated pants. Cashmere cardigan, American Apparel t-shirt, Diesel denim jacket, street fair leopard print scarf, thrifted vintage bag, discount store flats that are destroying my ankles every time I wear them.
Today I am going to be an extra in my friends music video so expect another outfit post! yay!
